I just received word that Samantha is safe and home with her mom. We don't have any details now, but would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for posting flyers, sending emails and saying prayers.
Previous Post -July 2008 - Samantha Rolfe is missing
From Vikki "My friend Tanya's daughter has gone missing. It is believed she ran away but her parents have been unable to find any friends she may be with. Kerryman's Crew Donates Toys
July 2008 - A few Chicks decided to get together at Kerryman's Pub to celebrate with Chick Penny. Well of course Vikki had to have a go at the stuffed animal machine. Everywhere she goes she tries to win stuffed animals for future Chick events. When she told one of the awesome girls on staff why she was trying, the gal gave Vikki bags full of animals. She said folks win them all the time and leave them there.
So the chicks walked out with moo cows, bears, dogs and even a Bozo. So! Thanks so much to the crew at Kerryman's for donating the toys but also hanging on to future ones for us to give to needy children. Visit Kerryman's Pub at 434 and Rangeline Rd. in Longwood, FL and win an animal for the Chicks!!
P.S. If anyone has brand-new stuffed animals or toys and they would like to donate them to the Chicks please email us at chicksrule@charitychicksorlando.com! Sorry we can't take any used toys for what we do, please drop those to your closest charity store! |

5th Annual HERO Program Breakfast
May 1, 2008 - Charity Chicks Emily, Gina, Paris, Vikki, Erika, Sarah and Stephanie, as well as guy friends Tony G. (Rooster#1!) and R.J. Bock volunteered at this years HERO Program Breakfast.
Our hostess Michele Katz of the Community Service Center put on a great event and we had the chance to recognize many fine youngsters from the Orange County area.
Mayor Richard Crotty, Magic player Bo Outlaw, Rick Roach, Ronald Blocker were all there to honor these HEROs.
Each HERO left with a bouquet of flowers, a gift from Westgate Resorts and multiple rounds of applause from the adults there to honor their sacrifices and contributions.
There were also a score of other volunteers who really made this breakfast great.
The tables were gorgeous and the Marks Street Senior Recreation Center was transformed into a lovely banquet area.
Michele, thank you so much for doing such great things and allowing us to be a part of your special day.
Thanks also to all of the folks who were a part of Wig Night, Pampered Chef Fundraiser and the Poker Challenge who helped raise money for this awesome cause!!

And the following is an excerpt from a wonderful letter from Michele Katz of the HERO Program:
"Last night was overwhelming to me. And though I work hard every single day, it reinforces what I do, what we do, to make the world a better place. I will remember the event last night, and every single one of your smiles for the rest of my life. And the impact you have on this program and these children is beyond measure."

Many thanks to Deb, Charity Chick Vikki, Charity Chick Paris Carter, Charity Chick Christine Del Pozzo, Jamie Lee, Penny Wallace, Jenny and her wonderful daughters
Rachel and Gracie. Thanks to Jamie we now know what 100 dollars worth of candy looks like!! It's alot! Thank Preferred Benefits crew and other donors for your generous support!

From Deb:
Jenny, Jamie and I delivered the baskets to The Orlando Union Rescue Mission and they were THRILLED. I’d like to thank everyone who donated and helped out with this event. As you can see by the pictures, the baskets were amazing, so much more than I could ever have imagined.
Paris, please accept my gratitude for taking on the infant to 5 year old group. I was stunned by how beautiful the baskets were. Please share these pictures and my Thanks with your friends and family who helped.
Jasmine and Brian volunteered to take care of the 14 year old and up age group. They single handedly bought the supplies and arranged and wrapped those baskets. They enclosed a beautiful handmade cross and prayer in each basket. Thank you Jaz and Brian.
My sister’s office donated $100.00.
Marian donated a dozen bags of assorted candy and toys.
Several other co-workers put money in the “Easter Basket Donations” jar I had on my desk.
Thank you to Vikki and Mike who not only donated boxes of goodies but Vikki worked her butt off helping to put the baskets together and make bows.
Thank you to Jenny and her awesome daughters, Rachel and Grace, (who also, by the way, spent their Christmas Caroling at Arnold Palmer Hospital and passing out gifts to the children who had to spend Christmas there). They bought some of the coolest toys for the baskets and helped put them together and wrap them.
Thank you to Jamie, who bought $100.00 worth of candy and, as you can see by his sweat covered face in these pictures, worked hard to help put them together.
Thank you to Penny and Christine, who donated $50.00 each and also helped put the baskets together and make the bows. After Paris’s husband delivered her baskets, Penny stayed up late into the night and wrapped the baskets while I slept. They were finished when I got up the next morning.
THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THIS SUCH A WONDERFUL EASTER FOR THE 90 CHILDREN NOW RESIDING AT THE ORLANDO UNION RECUSE MISSION! |

HERO Program Breakfast
May 1, 2007 - Charity Chicks Emily Fincher and Ayana McCaskill helped set up for the Hero Program's annual breakfast. The HERO Program recognizes children in our society who have done a heroic or otherwise good deed at a cost to them.
Emily attended the breakfast where there were over 200 people in attendance. Forty-five children were honored for their various good deeds. These children did things like: notified families that their building was on fire, reported another child who was hurting herself, reported drug and alcohol abuse, helped Katrina victims, offered lunch to a friend who had none…and the list went on and on. It truly was refreshing to hear the more promising stories that occur in our society.
Tony G and Kirk Mackey came out to be part of Emily's“crew”. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for coming to participate!
The Charity Chicks got a BIG plug at the event from Michele Katz, founder of the HERO Program. |

Helping at The Porch
Once again we were privileged enough to help at The Porch, a Christian outreach center in downtown Orlando.
A word from Gina
"Well, yesterday's event at the Porch was a success! Thank you all SO much for each and everything you did; cooking, giving up your Saturday afternoon, being so engaging with everyone...just showing up mind, body and God loving soul! Those events have a way of showing us how truly blessed we are even with our individual aches and pains of life.
Rhonda, the chicks (and our handsome men) wanted to say thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of that wonderful display of generosity by so many God loving people. We had a great time and look forward to being a helping hand in the future. Please let us know when you will be spear heading the one in the summer (we have the menu picked out already remember :-)"

Help!
We need to find a place that can take 30 cases of Ready Meals before the Christmas season! These are the self heating ready to eat meals similar to those our soldiers in Iraq receive.
The manager at Costco Wholesale bought some food that he would like to donate,
and he is looking for an organization that can provide a receipt for his tax
records and that can pickup the food at the Winter Park Costco on University and
Forsyth Rd. We are unable to provide the nesses receipt.
Please email Vikki at vikki@charitychicksorlando.com if you have a registered charity who can accept this donation.

Breakfast With Santa!
Charity chicks was happy to donate 2 boxes of toys to the Hard Rock Cafe for their "Breakfast With Santa"! One of the organizers Stephanie, sent us this great note and some pictures to share!
" Hard Rock Cafe & Hard Rock Live Orlando would like to thank you for your generous donation for our 2006 Holiday charity events. With your gifts, we were able to provide dinner to 120 people on Thanksgiving day. We also hosted over 200 children at "Breakfast with Santa" where the children enjoyed breakfast, received a toy, and got their pictures taken with Santa. Most of the children were four to six years old, and for many, this was their first time "meeting" Santa, so it was a very special and exciting experience for them. "

We Can All Be Angels!
12-02-06 "We Can All Be Angels" was the theme of the Charity Chick's Christmas event. This year we are 'sponsoring' a family through The Haven of Lake and Sumter Counties. This organization (non-profit) houses families escaping from domestic violence.
The Charity Chicks were all resplendent in red outfits to celebrate the season. We welcomed our friends and loved ones to this awesome event, where we raised money and got a big box of toys to help out our adopted family.
DJ Les was spinning great tunes all night and we had a great time dancing the night away.

A special thanks goes out to:
DJ Les - superdjles@yahoo.com , 407-402-1027. Call Les for your next party and have the great time we did shakin' our groove thang.

Our children's classmates who will each donate an ornament that they make, for the family's tree,....and Montverde Academy who will sponsor the families too. That means another 7-14 families will have their wishlists fulfilled! So exciting:)
Charity Chick Paris, and the rest of the Carter Family - for opening your beautiful home to us and providing the mountain of food and beverages and all of the preparations we know you went through to make this happen.

Recently we've been getting a lot of requests to be a part of Charity Chicks Orlando. So here are answers to the questions we receive.
1) Yes, in order to be a Charity Chick you must be a girl. However we love to have fellas help out, donate time and/or money and/or sandwiches, hang out during fundraisers, etc.
2) No, there is no age limit on being a Chick, Chicks can be 2 to 102, we don't care, we'd love to have you.
3) No, you don't have to do every event. Give time as your schedule permits. Give money as your wallet permits. Stress is not a Charity Chick attribute.
4) No we are not affiliated with any organization, religion or governmental group, other than being Charity Chicks Orlando.
5) No, no one receives payment, incentives or gifts in exchange for their time or money other than a feeling of well being and contentment ...possibly a case of the warm fuzzies. No one is employed by Charity Chicks Orlando or receives a paycheck, stipend or other reimbursement for anything at all.
6) Yes! We would love to help your non-profit organization; get noticed, raise money or help out. The Chicks themselves decide which organizations we will help. Please email our event coordinator Gina at gina@charitychicksorlando.com.
7) No we are not affiliated with charitychicks.com. We are in Orlando, they are a group in Phoenix. However, we think what they are doing is spectacular. Rock on Phoenix chicks! |

Charity Chicks Gina Somers, Ayana McCaskill, and Vikki Fraser presented a check to Keri Lobsinger of the Destiny Foundation/Greater Orlando Food Bank for the Pineloch Elementary Backpack Initiative. The grand total was $550.00 for this awesome cause.
Keri invited us to help fill and deliver the packs to the elementary school, so look for us driving around O-town with our cars full of backpacks.
We had a great time at the car wash where we raised our donation and wanted to additionally thank a few folks we missed the first time around:
Ryan Pamplin of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage - You said you would show up and we're glad that you did. A man of his word, so get a mortgage with Ryan! 407-622-2763.
The fellas at Pro-Detail, who despite having a detailing company, donated and got a car wash from the chicks. So we say, when there isn't a Chick wash happenin' call Hans or Pat at (407)765-5014 or (407)756-0697. |

Workin at the car wash...
The Charity Chicks had another great car wash, on June 17th, 2006. This one was to help the Greater Orlando Food Bank for the back pack initiative they are doing for
Pineloch Elementary.
We raised over 500 hundred dollars for this excellent cause! They will be filling the back packs with school supplies and giving them to kids
whose families can't afford the essentials! Don't forgot how excited you were to have your pencil box and Elmer's glue!
Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by to get your car done and for those who gave but couldn't stop by.
Also, thanks to our friends, family and co-workers who support us in this bubbly good time, every time!

We chose a great single mom and her son during a stressful part of their lives. We are always grateful for all that we have to share with others. And who are we to pass up some shopping at the mall?
Thank you Tricia for letting us have the Wrap Party at your place!
Special thanks goes out to Chick Gina Somers from her fellow Chicks for organizing this event, keeping track of who wanted what, and herding all of us Chicks through the mall, Best Buy, Kohl's and Crispers.
Gina, you are a truly special and loving person and we thank you for your inspirational dedication to helping others.

Charity Chicks help out with the Baby DJ Toy Drive!
12-14-05 Super Chicks Gina Somers, Tricia Ferguson and Heidi Pozek had a great time sorting toys and helping out at the Baby DJ toy warehouse this year.
The XL106.7 Baby DJ Toy Fund is a program created by Doc Holliday & Johnny Magic of the Doc and Johnny Morning Show over 14 years ago. This program was designed to help families with small children who are in need. Last year, XL106.7 helped nearly 4,000 families with toys, food, trees, and other important items. With the help of business in the community we can help even more.

On Monday, October 31, 2005 (yep, that's Halloween!!), the Chicks went trick-or-treating for CANNED GOODS!!!
We would like to thank all of the neighborhood folks who made a donation which will be going to the Second Harvest Food Bank. In all we collected 100 cans and boxes of food.
Our donations included vegetables, mac and cheese, chili and even a can of the beloved Spam!

9-11-05 Our inaugural car wash event was a sudsy success! The Chicks raised 1320 dollars for the Red Cross hurricane relief effort. With matching funds received from private companies that brings our total to over $3960 to help those in need in the gulf coast.
Armed with buckets and towels, we dominated the 7-11 at the corner of 436 and 17-92. From 9:30 AM until 4:00 PM we washed 50 cars! Our girls on the traffic beat raised over $400 by themselves.
It was so great to see so many $20 and $50 donations to the cause. We've never seen so many trucks and SUV's in our life!
Thanks so much and we'll see you at our next event!!
